Rakuten Mobile, Inc. (hereinafter "Rakuten Mobile" or "we") will collect, use and provide third parties with personal information to the extent necessary for fulfilling the following purposes of use when conducting operations under an installment sales contract related to installment sales or an individual credit purchase intermediation contract related to intermediation of individual credit purchases, etc. (hereinafter "installment sales contract, etc.")

Use of Personal Information, etc.

1. Purposes of use

We will collect personal information, etc. about you (i.e., the customer) as described below in order to fulfill the purposes of use stated below. Personal information, etc. about you collected by us includes information that you give us directly, information about your use of our services, and information collected from third parties. As for the purpose of third-party provision, please refer to "4. Provision of information to other outsiders."

"Personal information, etc." includes all information from which you are directly or indirectly identifiable as an individual. Among "personal information, etc.," "personal information" refers to "personal information" as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

2. Alteration of purposes of use

In cases where any purpose of use referred to in 1. above is to be altered, the purpose of use shall not be altered to the extent that the pre-altered purpose of use is reasonably deemed to have become irrelevant.

Of note, in cases where personal information is to be used beyond the extent necessary for fulfilling the purposes of use referred to in 1. above, we will clarify the purpose of use and obtain your prior consent each time.

3. Inquiry, provision and registration of personal information, etc. to participating credit information bureau

Pursuant to the Installment Sales Act, in cases where an inquiry about personal information, etc. on a party (including an applicant; hereinafter the same shall apply) to an installment sales contract, etc. is made to a personal credit information bureau with which Rakuten Mobile is affiliated (hereinafter "subscribed designated credit information bureau") and the personal information, etc. of the party is registered with such information bureau, we will use such personal information, etc. for investigating the solvency and repayment capacity of the party.

We will also provide and register personal information, etc. about the party to an installment sales contract, etc. to the subscribed designated credit information bureau as prescribed below. Of note, such personal information, etc. provided and registered by us will be used by members of the subscribed designated credit information bureau and members of personal credit information bureaus partnering with such information bureau (hereinafter "partner personal credit information bureaus") for investigating the solvency and repayment capacity of the party.

For the purpose of assigning to a third party claims arising from a contract of the installment purchase of individual products and a reimbursement contract in relation to the purchase of our product by installment payment or lump-sum payment, we may provide personal information, etc. of the party to the contract (e.g., his/her name, address, phone number, email address, billing and payment information such as usage fee and payment status) to the assignee of claims, etc.

When we outsource all or part of our operations relating to installment sales and intermediation of individual credit purchases, etc., we may entrust personal information, etc. retained by us to the outsourcee.
